Wes 101 (released April 18, 2025) is a 7-track album that features Kristen as a Jazz Guitarist in a quartet setting with Melanie Shore on organ, David Ian Baker on bass, and Matt Coleman on drums. The album was released, in part, as a tribute to the great Wes Montgomery, who had a tremendous influence on jazz guitar.

Muagsician (released Dec. 15, 2023) as a double-disc, 25-track, album that features Kristen as a Jazz Guitar Soloist. Playing solo jazz guitar requires a great amount of musicianship and is a bit of a magician’s trick as well, as it is not possible to cover the melody, the bass line, the rhythmic groove, an improvised solo, and comp the chords all at the same time.  So, in part, Kristen has to create the illusion that these things are all there by skillfully intertwining pieces of each of these elements together in a given performance.  As  a result, you get the combination of a musician and a musical magician – a muagsician – and pure musical magic.  The album is comprised of original selections, covers of jazz standards, and some arrangements of traditional folk or hymns tunes.  8 tracks also include some sung melodies, which nicely offsets the solo guitar playing.

Blush Tide (released October 23, 2021) features Kristen in a jazz quintet setting with Ray Smith on tenor saxophone and alto flute, Steve Erickson on piano, Matt Larson on bass, and Jay Lawrence on drums.

Finding Fields (released December 13, 2021) features Kristen with Groove Axis, a collaborative faculty jazz group that she was a member of which also featured Eric Hansen on bass, Matt Coleman on drums, and Steve Lindeman on b3 organ, fender rhodes, and wurlitzer electric piano.

Amazing Grace (released September 24, 2020), features Kristen playing her own arrangements of classic hymn and children’s songs that testify of Chris on solo guitar.

Simply Miraculous (released June 1, 2019) features Kristen in a jazz trio setting with Matt Larson on bass and Jay Lawrence on drums.

After recovering from what should have been a life-altering and guitar-career-ending injury, Dr. Kristen R. Bromley is back at it!  On this album, Kristen delivers fiery, soulful, folksy, and bluesy jazz guitar playing along with the exciting and interactive accompaniment of Jay Lawrence on drums and Matt Larson on bass.  Released June 1, 2019.

I’m really excited about this upcoming new album.  It is, without a doubt, Simply Miraculous.  About three years ago, my left-arm radial nerve was crushed when I broke my humerus bone in an accident.  As a result, I lost the ability to control the movement of my left-hand and wrist.  My hand essentially felt and acted like dead-weight at the end of my arm.  Consequently, I was diagnosed with a condition called radial nerve palsy; and the prognosis indicated that, in a best-case-scenario, I might someday regain a small percentage of the function and use of my left-arm and hand.  However, due to God’s mercy and intervention, an inspired surgeon, and a lot of patience and hard work on my part, I experienced a miraculous recovery from this injury and I slowly regained the ability to play the guitar.  This release is a celebration of that miracle.

On this album, I perform some of my original compositions and arrangements in a trio setting with Jay Lawrence on drums and Matt Larson on bass.  These gentlemen are both outstanding musicians and human beings.  The jazz music we play together is exciting, interactive, and authentic.  For me, it expresses the overall joy that I feel for the gift of life and music; and for the “simply miraculous” opportunity that I have to play the guitar again.
